Isle of Green
In 1968, Roger Finch and 2 other gentlemen bought 3 acres of land on the east end of Marshalltown, Iowa and built a hydroponics greenhouse. In 1983 we adapted part of the Marshalltown greenhouse to raise bedding plants. Over the next several years, with an increasing demand for quality bedding plants and hanging baskets, the direction of midwest hydroponics was about to change.
Isle of Green wholesale was born in 1986, and the partnership between Steve Finch and Bob Hessenius was formed. The intention of providing central Iowa with a locally owned and operated quality Marshalltown nursery, greenhouse and garden center was achieved.
Since that time, Isle of Green Iowa Wholesale Greenhouse has expanded to provide the greater Iowa area with the finest bedding plants, hanging baskets, perennials, combination planters and the hottest new annuals available.
In 1988, the Isle of Green Iowa Wholesale Greenhouse realized a growing demand for poinsettias of superior quality. We now grow 28,000 poinsettias for fundraising, churches, local retail outlets and our own Iowa garden center.
